There was a time when land line telephone service was standard in every household with telephone access. That era is now effectively gone; the land line has been replaced in many households with cellular service. Cell phones are more convenient because of their portability. Given advancements in satellite internet and portable internet technologies, hardwired Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and land line telephone service may soon share the same fate.

Get Your Home Telephone Messages on your Smartphone

AT&T has launched the AT&T Voicemail Viewer app, which lets AT&T U-verse® Voice customers easily check and manage their home telephone messages with visual voicemail on their smartphone.

Much like an email inbox, the Voicemail Viewer app lists your home voicemail messages and allows you to choose the order in which you wish to listen to them. The app also provides a notification when a new voicemail arrives in your home phone, plus the ability to delete voicemails remotely. Additional features include:

New Trade-In Program at Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless has launched their Verizon Wireless Trade-In Plan, which permits clients from any wi-fi carrier to get worth from no-longer-used wireless gadgets and help the atmosphere at the same time.

Customers who take part within the Trade-In Plan will submit their gadgets for appraisal online at www.trade-in.vzw.com and receive a postage-paid envelope to mail in the devices. In exchange for buying and selling in their gadgets, customers may receive a Verizon Wireless gift card by mail. The amount of the gift card will probably be based on the make, model and situation of the device and can be used toward the buy of telephones and equipment or to pay Verizon Wireless bills. Devices that haven’t any appraised value can still be sent in for recycling.
